We’ve been busy implementing a couple of new features for you on the website this month.
This week we’ve been drastically reducing the price of many Siemens S5 parts meaning you can save as much as 80% off our original price. Some of the huge reductions include:
Not the best example of industrial automation but we found this video of a nail manufacturing plant in Korea interesting. Hope you enjoy.
Some people think that a negative side to automation is the reduction of jobs for actual humans. But this isn’t always such a bad thing. Below are some jobs that are downright boring or horribly disgusting, that we’re pretty sure no one misses. Continue reading…
Well, we didn’t exactly get a gold medal but we did come top in Pixsys first Application Award!
To celebrate their 20 years in business, Pixsys recently launched a competition to award the top three most interesting projects featuring Pixsys programmable systems. We entered with our project where we developed a fully-functional test rig for jet engine starter generators. To create the high-accuracy test rig, we used a Pixsys TD320 operator panel and PL260 PLC with a Control Techniques Unidrive SP 15kW inverter drive.
In our second video we take a look at how automation is used in the manufacturing of LEGO. The production of the bricks is now almost completely automated and it only takes 10 seconds to make one brick, with 1.7 million bricks produced every hour. Never mind the machines though, I fancy a job as one of the LEGO designers. Playing with LEGO all day and getting paid for it? Sounds like fun!
There are so many options when it comes to selecting an AC drive that it can be difficult to know which is best for you. Not only is there hundreds of brands to choose from but there are also a multitude of types as well as communication and control options available to confuse the user. Here we have set out a handy selection guide to steer you in the right direction when it comes to selecting a brand new AC drive.
In April we moved to a brand new location better equipped to provide automation parts and repairs. One of the best things about the new place is Sat Navs take you right to our front door so we no longer have lost customers ringing us up for directions! And we have a nice new fancy sign. We even managed to capture a picture for you on a day when it wasn’t raining.
Not really industrial automation but you’ve got to love this product. Introducing the Cardboard bike.
In our first video we look at how industrial automation is used in the production of Pepsi. This is great video of the Pepsi production factory in Hawaii. If you look carefully you can spot a few Allen Bradley Panelview monitors (we only usually see broken touchscreens). So kick off your shoes, pour a glass of Pepsi & Jack Daniels and look at how industrial automation helps deliver a great tasting drink.
